Jolley Springs Baptist Church was organized on December 29, 1888 at the Adams School with twelve charter members who longed for a place to worship the Lord. The church joined and became a member of the Weakley County Baptist Association in September 1889. Rev. C. C. McDearmon was called as the first pastor. Land was donated by Mr. James Jolley and a new meeting house was built in 1889 and worship was conducted there until 1985.

The Baptist Articles of Faith were adopted in December 1892. The Sunday School began in February of 1897 and the WMU began in 1936. It must have been a very happy day in 1948 when the church bought its first piano. Then in 1949 the building was wired for electricity. Wednesday night prayer meetings began in 1951. The parsonage was completed and dedicated in December 1974.

After much prayer the church decided in 1983 to build a new church building to be located on Highway #54. Construction began in September 1984 with the work being done by members and friends. The first service in the new location and building was on November 24, 1985. Dedication services were held June 29, 1986 with praising and glorifying God from whom all blessings flow.
