Once again, I want to emphasize our upcoming Sunday School Training Classes to be held beginning in September and going through October. For six weeks, there will be training for the various age groups in your church. Some of our own folks will be leading each of the sessions. The schedule is found elsewhere in this newsletter. I encourage you to take advantage of this important training time.
The Golden Offering for Tennessee Baptist Missions will be received in September. The money collected through this offering is used to support missions throughout our state. The Golden Offering is used for compassion ministries, disaster relief, new church starts, college campus ministries, adoption ministries, and associational work. Our association receives 15% of the accumulative giving from our churches. WCBA uses this 15% for local projects amidst our associational church field.
Our Fall Conference is scheduled for Saturday, October 17. This year we will meet at Bible Union Baptist Church. We will begin our morning with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. This year’s theme is “Persevering in Good Works” (Galatians 6:9). We will hear reports from various associational ministries, as well as from state and national entities. We will also sing together, fellowship together, and hear solid preaching from the Word of God! I hope you will attend.
