In 1894, New Home Baptist Church was founded by a group of baptized Christ believers. Bro. F. H. Pettit was voted the first pastor and Bro. G. F. Shelley was recognized as the first deacon.
In 1947, the people had a vision for a new facility which is New Home’s present place of worship.
In 1956, the church began having services every Sunday.
In 1968 a fellowship hall, kitchen, and bathrooms were added to the facility.
In 1994, New Home celebrated 100 years of service and worship.
In 2008, thanks to the growth of the church, the Faith and Family Life Center was added. The two-story Center consists of fellowship hall/gym, kitchen, offices, class rooms, nursery, and bathrooms.
In 2016, New Home purchased a lighted sign so inspirational messages and announcements could be shared with everyone.
In 2022, the steeple was replaced due to storm damage in May 2021. Shortly afterwards, lights were installed to shine on the steeple so it will shine as a beacon to Christ.
