Liberty Baptist mission started in December 1956 when a group of 26 people, led by Bro. Roosevelt Horn started meeting in homes. After a few weeks the Liberty School building was purchased for the purpose of organizing a church.
 
On Sunday, March 24, 1957, Liberty Baptist Church was organized with Bro. Cayce Pentecost, moderator, and Bro. Bob Elliott, clerk. The church then had 41 members and a wonderful fellowship.
 
In 1960, the Spinks Clay Company donated the land on which the present facility was built. The first service in the new building was August 21, 1960.
